During the summer holidays, I visited Brú na Bóinne (Palace of the Boyne) in County Meath – the passage tombs of Newgrange and Knowth-  and then drove to Teamhair na Ri (The Hill of Tara), best known as the seat of the High Kings of Ireland, but also an important site from Neolithic times.
