In the first part of his response to the New Atheism at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast, David Glass provides an introduction to New Atheist thinking and explains why it is important for Christians to deal with their objections to Christianity. While their objections may not have much intellectual force, they nevertheless have had a significant influence on people’s attitudes to Christianity. He concentrates on two key issues by first of all considering the relationship between faith and evidence and then investigating whether science is in conflict with belief in God. On both counts, he argues that the New Atheists are seriously mistaken.
