Eggless Chickens don’t Require Extraordinary Evidence: Or, The Problem with ECREE!

In discussions about fine-tuning or the resurrection of Jesus, it’s often claimed that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence (ECREE). Is this claim true? A few months ago the BBC website  covered an uncanny and singular event in Sri Lanka, where  a hen gave birth to a chick without an egg.

Believing in One Less God than You…Four Problems With a Terrible Slogan

It’s difficult to take “New Atheism” seriously when it keeps propounding “arguments” like this:

“I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours”

This is rather like arguing that  a triangle is a square with one angle fewer, or that a bachelor is just a married man without a spouse.
