Believing in One Less God than You…Four Problems With a Terrible Slogan
It’s difficult to take “New Atheism” seriously when it keeps propounding “arguments” like this:
“I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours”
This is rather like arguing that a triangle is a square with one angle fewer, or that a bachelor is just a married man without a spouse.

Why the “Outsider Test” is an Abject Failure
The Outsider Test for Faith was popularised by John Loftus, a former pastor. His argument is quite simple:
“Tell believers to examine their faith critically and almost all of them will say they already do. But tell them to subject their own faith to the same level of skepticism they use when examining the other religious faiths they reject and that will get their attention.”
Loftus thinks that this constitutes an argument against Christianity.
