Although we’d much rather discuss something else, the debate over the redefinition of marriage continues to hold the public’s attention. Furthermore, it does not seem that the case for the traditional definition of marriage can even receive a fair hearing. A little storm brewed in evangelicalism’s tea-cup after Steve Chalke’s Oasis Trust lost its membership in the Evangelical Alliance. It seems that this was due to Chalke’s continued support for same-sex partnerships. The decision has brought the usual accusations of intolerance and intransigence.
